* 딸기 오징어를 본 적 있는 사람은 흔치 않을 것이다
* 딸기 오징어는 Strawberry squid, 학명은 Histioteuthis heteropsis으로 1913년에 명명되었다
* 바닷속 황혼 지역 Twilight zone 에 서식하는 독특한 색상의 오징어
* 표면에 있는 포토포어(심해생물이 빛을 반사해서 위장하거나 먹이를 유인하는 용도로 발현된 기관)가 딸기 표면같이 보이기 때문에 딸기 오징어로 불리게 되었다
* 캘리포니아, 페루 해류에서 발견된다
* 아래 사진은 매우 큰 것 처럼 찍혔지만, 성체의 크기가 길이 기준으로 54-89mm 정도 밖에 되지 않는 소형 오징어이다
* 살기는 해저 200-1000m 지역에 살지만, 짝짓기와 번식을 어디서 하는 지는 아직 알려진 바가 없다고 한다
